Mil-spec is great if you need to outfit a couple hundred thousand troops with firearms and need complete random interchangeability for lower costs, assembly times and quicker deliveries, but the mil-spec performance could be improved upon.   Our firearms maintain the mil-spec interchangeability with mil-spec forged receivers, but we go the extra 26 miles to add reliability and precision to exceed all mil-spec requirements.  Build time goes drastically up with our build process from the mil-spec hour to a minimum of two weeks.  We are working on process improvements to get that down to single digit days.  Not one single manufacturer offers all the gunsmithing upgrades that we provide as standard on our premium models. We perform 28-35 gunsmithing operations over and above the usual mil-spec manufacture that add to the reliability or accuracy potential.   Not to mention the value-added range time. Ultra-reliability and safety are paramount requirements for our firearms.  Precision and looks are second only to these.

There are a ton of firearms manufacturers in the USA and almost all make a high-quality product, but it is a low-grade product that 99+% put on the market.  Let me explain that.  A standard basic product offering with the bare minimum of upgrades is a low-grade product, regardless of its quality.   Grade has nothing to do with quality.   We on the other hand want to deliver the highest quality product that is also highly upgraded and tested more thoroughly on an individual basis.  We want to provide turn-key firearm packages in a super-grade or ultra-grade level.

Springs

Great quality springs are critical for long-term reliability and optimum performance.  We only use the absolute best quality, cryogenically treated, high-temperature resistant springs using the latest cutting-edge technology.  Our springs are significant upgrades over the past mil-spec performance.  Most users will never shoot enough rounds to require a replacement of any of our springs.  Our flat-wire recoil springs and proper gas tuning result in increased bolt lock times and higher bolt loads in-battery, but lower maximum charging weight load, slower extraction with lower stress, which results in higher bullet velocity potential.  Our proper tuning of the gas, mass, and spring system results in lower recoil, lower reciprocating speed, elimination of bolt bounce, less heat in the action, less fouling, lower wear rates, less gas port erosion, and flatter shooting with quicker follow-up shots.

Gas Systems

We prefer to utilize the longest length gas systems available for the length of the barrel.  We avoid the pistol length gas systems like the plague and the barrels shorter than 10” that require them.  We only use top-notch, match-grade, barrels in our premium builds between 10.5” to 24”.  Our barrels will be permanently bedded to the upper receiver.  Our gas blocks and gas tube will be sealed to reduce gas leakages.  The barrels we source are typically melonite nitrided 4150 CMV or 416R SS.  Our bolts and bolt carriers are all magnetic particle inspected, high-pressure tested, and shot-peened.

Headspacing

Headspacing is carefully measured many times during initial bolt selection and fine fitment with the optimum barrel, prior to and following pressure lapping of the bolt & barrel lugs.  All of our SuperPremium firearms in 5.56 NATO or .223 Wylde chamberings will have headspacings set at (5.56 NATO/SAAMI minimum chamber headspace of 1.4636”,unless noted otherwise).  This NATO/SAAMI Minimum Rifle Chamber headspace ensures the chamber will accept the longest NATO/SAAMI Ammo Cartridge lengths (maximum cartridge headspace) in manufacture for the highest precision potential, via better sealing cartridges, more consistent pressures, and less precision dispersion.  This also allows for the longest bolt and barrel lug wear life starting at the tightest headspace.

Forward Assists (We DO NOT Provide Them)

Forward assists, we do not provide them.  Go into any gun store that works on ARs and many times the number one malfunction other than operator error and ignorance will be that they have jammed the gun up with the forward assist, which goes back to operator error. It is not the usual FTF/FTF/FTE/FTE combinations but people loading the wrong ammo somehow and or never cleaning the chamber and getting a round stuck partway into the chamber with the bolt not locking into battery.  This seems to be on the rise with all the new rifle ownership.  300 blackout cartridges should not, but they will eventually fully chamber AND fire in a 5.56 NATO chambered barrel.  It is not pretty, and it takes a lot of effort to achieve and be this special.   To avoid these shenanigans, we provide a gas vent port in place of the forward assist to expel as much gas from the action as possible.  This will show its benefit when running a suppressor.  If you think you need a forward assist, you may want to fix the real problem before making a small problem into a bigger problem.  We believe Gene Stoner should have never designed the forward assist, but it was not his decision.  Not all the developments in the design were well thought out and many were forced upon him by the military advisors holding the purse strings, e.g., caliber change from 7.62mm and forced use of stockpiles of dirtier burning Olin Ball powder over the original IMR 4475 extruded propellant, among several others.

M4 Feed Ramps

M4 feed ramps, we provide them, polished and slightly stepped to the barrel extension feed ramps, but they are not needed nor will they be in actual use in our firearms.  The M4 feed ramps were a band-aid fix for the increased cyclic rate of the M4 carbine after the gas system was shortened from the donor M16 design.  Gas port pressures went from about 10,000 psi on the M16 with a rifle length gas system up to about 17,000 psi on the carbine length gas system of the M4 (both using M855A1). This drove the cyclic rate up to the point some rounds were hitting the receiver during feeding.   Our properly tuned firearms will not require the M4 ramps, but we still provide them for the hardcore who insist on them.

We do not do ultra-light, skeletonized receivers, unless you need a race-gun, and maybe we could be persuaded.
